How To Save Money On Clothing
We all like to look good in our clothes, but the problem is that looking good can cost an absolute fortune. When you are already in a situation where debt repayments are boggin you down it can be tempting to treat yourself once in a while. Most people like to treat themselves with new clothes, but this only ads to their poor financial situation.
You don't have to blow the budget with your clothes. Here are a few pointers towards spending less but still looking good.
- Always Buy Classic
- One of the easiest ways to blow the clothing budget is to shop according to the fashion. Instead, buy clothes that are classic and therefore will not lose their stylish appeal. Buying according to fashion fads will mean you waste your money on clothes you might only wear a couple of times, before they are no longer fashionable!
- Mix And Match
- Rather than going out and buying a lot of complete outfits, why not buy just what you need. Match your black jeans with black tops, white tops with blue jeans etc. Buy to match what you already have - this tip alone will save you a lot of cold, hard earned cash!
- Avoid Dry Cleaning
- Although a lot of designers recommend that you dry clean their clothes, the likelihood is that in nearly every case it could be cleaned just as well at home. Dry cleaners are expensive, avoiding them and using your own washing machine will save a lot of cash.
- Buy In The Sales
- Instead of buying at the full price, why not hold off on your purchases and buy during the sales? Most stores will offer steep discounts after Christmas and during the summer to clear stock and encourage spending. Be disciplined and take advantage of the mega-savings on offer!
- Sell Your Old Clothes
- If you have a pile of clothes that you simply don't touch then why not sell them to somebody who will wear them? Register at eBay and start listing your clothes for sale. Lots of people actually make their living selling old clothes online, why not give it a go? You could even use the cash generated from the sale of your old clothes to pay off any debts you have.
