Save Money On House Cooling Costs
One of the easiest ways to save money and improve your budget is to put in place the following tips to reduce the cost of keeping your home or business cool. When the temperature soars it is all too easy to turn on the air conditioner, but these are expensive to run and will drive your electricity bill through the roof! Making a few tweaks to the way you do things will save you some serious cash, so get going!
- Use A Thermostat To Regulate Room Temperature
- Rather than having your air conditioner running for the entire day, you should install a programmable thermostat. These can be programmed so that the air conditioner only runs when it needs to, saving you big money on your power bill.
- Keep Your Air Conditioning Unit Out Of The Sun
- If your air conditioning unit is stationed outdoors and is in direct sunlight it will have to work harder to cool the air down. If you can get some shade over it you will reduce the energy needed to lower the air temperature.
- Keep Unused Rooms Sealed Off
- If you spend most of your day in a certain room, then make sure it is well ventilated. However, rooms that are not used should be kept sealed off.
- Install A Ceiling Fan
- Often overlooked, but not to be underestimated! Ceiling fans are a cheap and easy way to cool down a room. Having a ceiling fan moving the air will really make a difference to not just the air temperature, but also on your energy bill.
- Only Use ENERGY Star Complient Goods
- Simple rule - if it doesn't comply to the ENERGY Star standard don't buy it!
