Save Money On Fuel Costs
The price of gas, petrol and diesel just seem to keep on rising, but you still need to get around. So what do you do? Well, fortunately there are some easy ways for you to save money at the pump and cut costs. Employing these quick and easy tips will cut some decent money off your bill, making it much easier to stay within your budget.
- Change Air Filters
- One of the first things to do in order to make your car or truck more efficient is to fit a new high performace air filter. A high performance air filter will allow the engine to breathe easier, so you will get more miles per gallon.
- Change To A Less Restrictive Exhaust
- Some people like to fit fancy looking bores onto their cars that look nice, but they are also bad for the overall efficiency acheived by the engine. Rather than muffling the sound and restricting the flow of gas, fit a less restrictive exhaust system. This will allow the engine more room to breathe, giving you a much more efficient ratio of mile per gallon.
- Cover That Trailer!
- If you have a pickup with an open trailer then get it covered fast. As the air faces more resistance with an open trailer the engine must work more, lowering the engine's efficiency considerably. Cover the trailer with a tarpaulin so the air moves easily over the surface. The engine will have to work less, rewarding you with a lower bill for fuel.
- Maintain Proper Tire Pressure
- It is estimated that many vehicles have 6 percent more higher fuel costs because of tires that are under-inflated. Consult your manufacturer for the optimum tire pressure for your vehicle and start saving money. Under-inflated tires also wear faster, so keeping them at the optimum pressure will save you money on replacement tires.
